Forester info needed

so im need some info. would like to know how roomy is the back seat 01 forester. trying to get the family to sell the pos honda they have and get a forester. one like the link below.

never been back there, but they would seem to have more head room. :roll: not sure about knee room. unless they are carrying a basket ball team in there, chances are, the actual passengers wont give a hoot, since most of the time it's just kids back there. lol ever wonder why ppl care about those stats so much? :smt017 last time i checked, i ddnt mind if my rear passengers were comfy when i was blasting down an off road trail. the knee clearance is the least of their worries. The rear seats have only as much room as the Impreza - the headroom is bigger.

Cars101.com usually has interior specs - the same equivalent year Forester vs. Honda Accord results in the Accord winning out on rear seat room. The Forester's advantage is load space and "configurability".

Trust me, it is CRAMPED in the back. Anytime an adult sat behind me, I'd have to move the drivers seat uncomfortably close. Good for kids in upright booster seats, but forget about infant seats. We had to remove the front headrest to get our infant daughter's seat to fit. Rear cargo area is smaller than a leggy wagon, too. I preferred it's 5th gear to my outback.

it's the cargo net and floor guard im tellin ya, thats what activates the intergalactic pleades (sp?) star power :smt073 :smt072 and turns ordinary foresters into sti's :naka: . that and having japan as the country of origin. i was going to move there and start a snow cone stand b4 i got hitched, tru story. :smt005

The forester is basically an impreza, so yeah, its pretty cramped. Depends on what honda they have as to how it compares. Older CR-Vs are pretty cramped too.

LOL you're in the land of small cars, a Forester will be a significant step up from the SMX. The Forester is fine for even 4 normal adults as long as you aren't taking a long trip.

As pointed out, the first gen fozzies are based entirely off the impreza GC/GF chassis. Same engine, drive line, interior and everything. So as far as SUV's go, they are small, think of em as high roofed impreza's (And they fricken GO like high roofed imprezas!). The SG's are probably a little more roomy, but still, they hadn't gone full blown SUV then.

So yeah, for a good family car: Legacy wagon.
For a family car that goes like an Impreza: Forester.

This of course is not true for the latest forester, but the latest forester can die in a fire.
