okay i know everyone is gonna say use the search but i have, on both here and nasioc, and i havent found any clear answer with what is wrong with my transmission.

1995 L legacy AWD 2.2 all stock.

turn the car on the AT temp. light flashes.

the car no longer eases out of parking spots when reversing i really have to give it gas and it putters and feels like its binding in the rear wheels. like its resisting or something. imagine the brush for a vac. and a long cord gets wrapped around. it still tries to spin but its just a PITA to spin. then when shifting into drive, the trans feels like its dropping into the gear, there's just a loud thud and you can feel it in the car. driving is fine unless im making turns. when i put it into park, there is a violent thud and it just feels like i have the brakes all the way down as if im stopped at a redlight and the car still wants to go forward. then when i turn my car off the car rolls backward until the parking break kicks in. ive been using my e-brake so the after roll doesnt occur.

i've searched and read pretty much everywhere (guarantee someone will prove me wrong but thats good) and i couldnt find anything that gives a clear answer to what the hell is wrong.. some one please help.

i've started to take apart the car (removed exhaust and drained fluid, didnt look or smell burned, was red and still viscus as normal ATF is.)

im willing to take trans off if i have to fix it, i just wana know whats wrong so i can go from there.

Sounds like your Duty C solenoid is burnt out, leaving the car in 50/50 mode.

Insert the FWD fuse in the engine bay (see the special location on the passenger side firewall) and see if the problem goes away.

did that and there was no change. like i never put the fuse in there.... and if i change the duty C, will that fix the problem?

my 93's reverse went out b4 all the other ones, still drove though, similar feeling. you got some good miles on it? might keep an eye on that, worst case scenario, you convert to 5mt :smt005

The binding in my Legacy got to the point that the fuse did nothing. I ended up removing the rear half of the drive shaft until I was ready to swap the transmission.

You could swap just the transfer drum in the rear, but if it is that bad your fluid is probably pretty bad and the rest of the trans will be going away soon...
