i guess the price has gone up a little, it was like 9 and change for that lip

i pocketed some epoxy and glewed it right up

took 5 min

how did you guys attach your aluminum to the back of it to strengthen it up?

drill, screws and/or plastic pop rivet things from the factory.

idk y there isnt a thread on this already. is there a DIY on here for this? all i found was a couple pics of the completed project

i tried doing this but the lip fell off from the tape. got the heavy duty stuff (up to 5lbs) too... what material did you use for the lip? i got the foam garage door seal stuff... but some people have used rubber?

i also took 1/16th" x 3/4"x4foot piece of aluminum flat stock and cut it into four inch sections and pre drilled two holes, on in each end (i cut 5, two for each side, and three across the front) for a little extra security for highspeed driving. i attached these behind the lip for reinforcement. i didnt want it to sepersate from the glue and flap around on the highway. with the pre drilled strips, i held them against the already glued on lip, and pre drilled small holes for the sheet metal screws i used to attach them (i recommend pre drilling the holes through the foam lip because other wise the screw can grab the material and tear it)

ill post up a picture this afternoon to follow up on it.
