I have a problem with my rear passenger powerwindow.
it can go down.....but it cant go up. I tried opening the door panel and checking inside, but i dont see any problem with the wiring. When i switch it from the driver switch panel...it works.
Any suggestion as to what might be the problem?

Also, sometimes my central locking system would not work. Has happened several times. When i lock the door from the driver side usually all doors lock. But when it doesnt lock all i hear is this clicking sound from the passenger dash area.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

Yea you need new switches. I have the same problem. I tried cleaning them and it didn't work. All 3 doors wouldn't work. I switched a new one in the passenger side and it works now. It's messed up that they all stopped working at the same time.

does it sound mechanically unsound at all when rolling it down?

We had this problem some years ago and it was the control arm that was ripping away from the window.

If not, you should check the wiring in your doorjam for pinches, as your locking system is having issues too. It might be a simple thing like that.

If not, then I would go with what reason said.

Or you can replace the switch like I did and be done with it.

it would suck to replace the switch an not have solved the problems when you check a few simple things for *free* first

A simple multimeter would tell you if the switch is getting power - but because it goes down, but won't come up, that says part of the switch is faulty.

If the switch makes an "rrrrrrr" noise when trying to go up, then you have a mechanical problem. If it makes no sound at all, then it's electrical.

I think. :D

This is what I did and came up with a bad switch. 1 new switch later and the window works.

Shane, I wasn't saying you were wrong. I agree with you. I'm just telling him to check a few other things before he spends money.

Thanks for the advice, I think i will have to go to the local electrician and get the cables checked. I dont think its the switch itself.
I also need to drop her off to a garage to have her serviced. At that point Im gonna get them to do a full check up on the car.
