Well, I am once again doing an ex-girlfriend a solid.... She has a '98 Impreza Outback, with the Phase 1 EJ22. She had issues with filling the gas tank a while back, and her brother "fixed" that issue with a vacuum cleaner hose(more here later). Well, that was a good year ago, haven't talked in about 15 months, and now she says she has the four above codes.... The 136, 440, 446, and 451. In order those are: Rear O2 sensor circuit malfunction, Evap emission control system malfunction, Evap system vent control low input, and evap pressure sensor range problem. My guess is the hack job done to the gas tank filler neck(using a vacuum cleaner hose :smt021) is causing the last three codes. That and the black breadbox is probably mad as hell, or fried.... The 136 means she just needs a new O2 sensor.... Which I would be willing to bet is gummed up to high heaven because the car has been running in safe mode dumping TONS of fuel, clogging/fouling the sensor....
Thoughts? Comments? She was going to drive 4 hours to see me and see what I can do with it.... And do iKea and have a little fun in Ann Arbor. Lol thanks in advance.
