So this last weekend I got a hair up my ass to finally go out and clean up my engine bay grounds...
None of them were corroded... but as promised... they were bolted to painted surface and secured with star washers...
So I went ahead and scraped the paint off and cleaned up (also covered them in dielectric grease) the following grounds but I want to find more:
2 bolts by the drivers side strut mounts
2 bolts by the passanger side strut mount
1 bold directly behind the drivers side headlight. (this one connects directly to the negative battery cable)
1 bolt on the passenger side frame. Low in the engine bay very close to the passanger side head.
1 bolt underneath the air box behind the throttle body. black wire with red stripe bolting into the firewall.
I saw one other bolt by the base of the ABS pump but I didnt have the proper socket size to remove it.
Any other locations that you guys can think of???
All help is appreciated.
FYI none of the locations showed signs of corrosion. Also... I didnt notice any type of an improvement from cleaning these. I was mainly looking to cure the headlights dimming while I use my window switches. I also notice that when I am running my ac, shifts are much harder.
Does anyone else notice that if you start to roll up one window... then you start to roll up a second one (or the sunroof) at the same time, that it seems to load down the system and the first window slows down slightly until you let up on of the switches?
