So when I put my car in reverse and take my foot off of the brake, my abs light comes on for code 54 (faulty stop light circuit).
Whats weird is that if I put my car into reverse and keep my foot barely pressed on the brake... It wont make the abs light come on. I can back up for as long as I want and shift into any other gear without throwing the abs code. But as soon as I go back to reverse and take my foot off of the brake... it comes on again.
Also... there is about a 1 -1.5 second lag between when my foot comes off of the brake pedal and when the light comes on. If I put my foot back on the brake in that time, the light wont come on. I can literally do this 10 or 20 times and as long as I dont let my foot off of the brake for more than 1-1.5 seconds... it wont come on. But as soon as I let it up for the magical time period... it will come on, even if it is after 20 foot taps with no light.
I have been having issues with super dim reverse lights and I noticed the other day (when i was able to put the car in reverse and the abs light DIDNT come on), that the reverse lights worked perfectly. They dont turn on if I put it in reverse and the abs light comes on. I am now thinking these two issues are connected.
I am very suspect of the stoplamp switch... what do you guys think?
