Hi.

I promice I'll do proper introductions soon, but right now I have this thing that I can't get out of my mind:

This part is a leftover after 98 NA forester block swap into 98 Legacy Outback.

and I can't find where is it sopposed to go.

Can someone identify it please?

A/C Compressor?

Or a pic of current engine bay... Would help us to figure out what's missing too

pulled that off of mine as well, i thought it was a mounting bracket for the turbo, since its in that general area

I thought so too, until I re-read the post:

meh, i could be wrong, but i know where it goes, if you look at the back of the motor on the passenger side, it mounts up by the wiring harnesses between the head and the bell housing.....not exactly the best description but I know that's where I pulled mine off from

:smt102 Maybe it holds up the breather tube for the intake or even the air intake? :smt102

Based on that description, maybe it attaches to the wiring harness, to keep it from pinching/moving. Just a guess though.

nah that piece is much thinner and there's only 1 bolt on point for that piece, this one here sits wedge between the cylinder head and the back of the motor that meets the bell housing, just below that part....the 2 holes on the piece were facing towards the firewall if I remember correctly.

Yup, I bought a jdm ej25 yesterday, and here it is. that very same part is used to hold the exhaust piping in place. I think that part was just given to me along with other bits and pieces long time ago, and has nothing to do with weither outback or forester engine.

Thanks for the help!
