Paint decisions poll - read post first

Ok So I have some rust spots that I am going to take care of. No holes yet.

I also have some fading trim (mostly the plastics). It's obviously pink now. the rest of the paint looks passable though.

Should I try to color match everything and get it done at a professional body shop?

Should I fix the rust myself and do the rustolium paint job in brown, white, yellow or black?

Should I Grizzly grip it in one of the above colors?

should I Grizzly grip it in black with tinted headlights and tails? (murdered out)


I am tinting my windows no matter what color I go with.

I think a canary yellow Legacy would be hot, like Ferrari's.

heh, I had a Jeep Cherokee Painted yellow. When it was first bought it was white but then I got hit so I had the body damage repaired, a brush guard built, full repaint inside and out, rust repaired, and he painted the calipers and the wheels on his own, for $950. only 2 blemishes on the paint and that guy could work magic with the body.

it's since been sold off.

and as a bonus our Land Rover Defender (still have it) and plan on bringing it over here in 6 years once it is legal to import.

Personally I LOVE yellow on the bajas and if they had black bottoms instead of silver it would be one of my dream subarus to have

Do the yellow no doubt...throw in a soft flake of some sort...then the black trim with your tinted heads/tails/ and soon to be windows wwill look great!

Another idea to throw out there....do the yellow all over keeping back trim....then paint the center of your hood black as well right to the point offf where the lip is...I did that on mine but mine is silver with a baja turbo hood with the center black after I get it back f4om my accident ill put a pic up for ya

Yellow it is. Ferrari Yellow FER102 is a pain in the ass because well it's a Ferrari color. My solution? Indy Yellow. A pearl yellow paint from our good old pals at Honda

I am going to be getting rid of the bump stops on the doors to go for a cleaner look, the Skirts will be painted in black and I am Contemplating a black off center stripe on the passenger side. hood to trunk. Blacked out heads and tails.

Its your car, paint it what you wish. I know you are looking for ideas, but don't try to please the public.

Remember what ever color you go with if the bottom trim matches the paint it will look lower. With black trim it will give it a raised look.

Nah I am not trying to please them. just messing with them. I want yellow and thats what I'll most likely go with. unless it makes me a cop harassment target. I don't speed, and i keep my car within state regulations so i figure I will be just fine. Plenty of other cars here run Hid's and black out heads and tails so I don't think it will eb a problem as long as it's visible from the state minimum distance.

Color of a car means nothing to cops. If you drive like a dick a cop will pull you over no matter the color of a car.

sweet then I have no problems with yellow. I am thinking the black trim at the bottom will help to create an overall theme with the blacked out heads and tails and stripe from the hood to the trunk. I am going to leave the clear circles on the headlights clear and upgrade to Bizenons so i don't lose light output. Then I just have to figure out what looks better silver or gloss black wheels.

nah i only stumble upon it while looking for Ferrari yellow (FER102). it's not quite the same color but it's nice and deep and rich which is what I am looking for in a yellow. I am not a fan of either of those two colors.

I had already decided on yellow but after looking at that thread its locked in. There was only one in that thread and it was washed out and shitty looking so I know I can pull it off better.
