Winter Slush and Slide Event # 02 Feb 12

[GT Wagon]

Event #02 was cancelled due to bad (warm) weather and will be run in March if possible. Last weekend was a very tough event . The track was pure ice and finesse was key. I placed 5th overal in AWD class, not bad considering 3 of the higher placing cars were 06 WRX, 04 WRX and 04 STI and the later was a mix of WRX's RS and a '01 Legacy sedan. Warren was running his 95 Impreza 1.8 and did very well. He's running an LSD from a '99 RS and it does wonders.

From riding in the two WRX's I can see how they can put the power down while I get one rear wheel breaking loose and spinning under acceleration. If I run next winter I'd really like to have LSD and be able to put the power down. A rear sway bar is on the list as well, the Wagon at slow speeds plows and is hard to turn. All in all a fun day, very demanding but fun none the less.

That would be excellent to have some SLI members show up 8) 8) . There is an event planned for this Sunday. It is located in Ottawa, Ontario Canada.

Google diretions - It will realistically take 1 hour from the border to hit the track. You can drive 120km/hr (70mph) the entire way up without being molested by law enforcement. Its nothing like your Hwy State Patrol. I live 5 minutes from it and will provide complete directions to anyone who wants to come.

very awesome 8) not sure if anyone would be able to do the sunday event, but given some more planning time, the other one could be good.

March 4th & 5th are the "make-up" dates for cancelled events. There's going to be at least one event that weekend, possilby a double header.
