I took my car to a subaru service to change the rear brake pads for the handbrake. (95, 2.2GX) Beacause of poor working handbrake i assumed that the pads warent changed, so i took off the brake disc (after about three weks) an this is what i found under the disc. My question would be how old do the pads look like to you, and if anyone has a picture of new pads.

They look "ok" and the handbrake could just need the tension adjusted from the cable.

well they've been off because the equalizer rod has a missing spring, and look like the put in a new pin for the handle (hooks to the cable) but the shoes look old because they show wear, and new subaru shoes are painted brownish

Thanks a lot  Itook it back today and we took it apart again and we realised that they are infact new, but they are not original from Subaru but aftermarket. They look rusty due to the iron on the pads. I came out preety

If those are 3 week old shoes, I'll eat my shirt.

Those springs should've been changed when they changed the shoes as well. The springs usually break before the shoes wear out. Especially in the rust belts of the world....
