Just to sorta get an idea of how many subarus that have manuals are out there.

5MT '95 L AWD. I would NOT have even considered an automatic, in the Legacy or any other car.

Mine's a 5mt. It came stock with a 5mt but I'm not still using the original 5mt. I blew the first one up.

Something like 90% of SS's and all TW's came with the 4eat. Most of the guys on LCO that have the turbo's have 4eat's...unless they swapped in the 5mt, which quite a few have done.

I was recently going to get an OBS for a dialy but it was 4eat, so I ended up having to pass on it.

My wife insists on driving automatics, so our old Forester S had the slush box in it and I HATED it. Only Subie I've ever owned that had an auto.

Are you just repeating what I already said? Because if you read my post, I said that ALL TW's came with the 4eat. ;)

Most new gen Subies (MY89+) have been 4eat's and it had nothing to do with being "loaded". The 5mt just never sold as well in the USDM market so they have always brought over a lot more automatics then manuals.

Try finding an early Impreza 5mt. It can be done but it's not easy. Around here probably 85%-90% of Subies are 4eat. :(

Had a '98 Legacy L AWD which had a 4EAT, then it was totalled over two years ago on a Christmas evening by a young kid. I was sorta happy because the L sedan was SLOW!!!

Now I have a '98 Legacy GT AWD w/ 5MT as a replacement!!! The wife is slowly trying to ruin the body though... :evil:
