Hey.
My subie has been making a wierd noise (sounds like a vibration in the engine) and someone told me it was the oil pump. It only does it in 3rd and 4th gear under low acceleration/keeping same speed. The noise is faster as I am going faster. That might be due to the higher RPM of traveling the interstate(70mph) vs country roads(45mph).
Does this sound right as being an Oil pump going on?

ehh...if a failing oil pump was going to cause a noise, it would most likely happen regardless of what gear you are in.
Wait, is this a 4EAT? If so, then it could potentially be the TRANSMISSION oil pump. But even then, that usually happens regardless of what gear you are in.

Tried using my iPhone 4 to get a audio recording....Didnt show
Tested out the AWD by putting the FWD fuse in...Noise was still there but wasnt as bad.
I do have a bad axle (not my first one to go) but I doubt it is that.
