question legacy 06 swap turbo

hi, i have a 06 legacy with 2.5 engine (non turbo) and 5 speed manual transmission, my question is what do i exactly need to complete a swap with 04-06 turbo engine? cause i have an opportunity to buy a turbo engine but just want to make sure that it will fit my original parts

Basicily you need the following:
-Front turbo subframe
-Engine w/ all accessories & sensors
-ECU
-Engine harness
-Turbo manifold
-Turbo
-Up-pipe
-Downpipe
-New exhaust
-"40-100+" hours of wiring to merge the engine harness to your legacy body harness.
--> common wiring issues (A/C, Climate Control, Immobilizer, Security modules, cruise control, Drive-by-wire (DBW), DBW pedal assembly
--> Is the engine your going to put in OBDI or OBDII?

Also adding a turbo engine to a N/A 5MT is not going to end well for longevity.

Would you still have to merge harnesses if you got a turbo from the same generation and model? It seems like all you would have to do is swap ECUs and harnesses and the connectors should line up wouldnt they? I think the OP needs clairification. Is the turbo motor from a legacy, or an impreza?
Then again I know nothing about swaps of any kind so I may be compleatly wrong.

you are correct sort of.. it definitly makes a difference with each motor choice.

Do they use DBW?
Do they use single/twin turbo?
Do they use Mechanical throttles?
Do they use immobilizers?
Do they use ODBI or II
Do they use.. do they have..

You would assume that a 06' EJ255 turbo + ECU would plug in to the 06' body harness.. however if that were correct then the 2.5RS guys wouldn't go through all that work to convert to WRX/STi swaps...

I've never taken part in any 05+ anything.. But I have seen 6MT swaps and such.
