Brakes and rotor recomendations [Archive] - Subaru Legacy International

Hey, i drive a 1999 legacy sus and i was looking to replace my brake pads and rotors and i was wondering if anyone had any recomendations on the brand and if i should get the regular flat or a sloted rotor. thanks

r1concept slotted rotors and i dunno if EBC makes any pads but red pads are pretty nice.

Something by EBC is good (I had the Red's). And you really don't need fancy brake discs if you aren't doing motorsports, they just look bling.

If you buy Hawk pads, you're buying American made, developed and tested.

Get the solid rotors from your parts store. Cheap, and reliable. Pair them with good pads - if you're not tracking then just get some nice street pads that don't dust much!

yea im running hawk hps pads on the brembos and they are pretty amazing lol.

Brembo Blanks and PosiQuiet ceramic pads. Best setup ever for street daily driver and once in a blue moon Track day. They are pretty cheap around $30 or so a rotor. I can dig up the link if wanted.

Get regular rotors. Pads depends on what you're looking for. If you do track driving there are aggressive pads out there (Carbotech, etc.) but they're dusty, noisy, and don't last long.

so ive decided in hawk pads and i can buy the whole set for around 150 for the hps ones but i also found that the ceramics are just 10 dollars more for the whole set, so which should i get?

Depends on how you drive to be honest, ceramic pads are nice but I don't believe they offer a huge advantage.

well is it worth the extra 10 or should i stick with the hps also i live in the mountains so i do brake alot so which should i go with

Get the ceramics. I get them and i always have great braking with stock calipers and blank rotors.

But if you drive fast and brake hard probably ceramic pads will be a good upgrade.
But I don't know if at the original brake rotors like ceramic pads...
