1. dumb question on a EJ25D can you advance the timing to gain a couple ponies? I'm guessing the ECU wont let you?
2. Stage one and Stage 2 cams will work on the stock ECU right? Stage one should be fine? Stage 2 you might have some idle search issues but it will run? and I'm guessing you would need some sort of engine management to adjust timing here as well?
3. lets say I have a full 2.5" exhaust and stage 2 cams as my only mods, where is my power-band going to be? like around 5.5k-6.5k? or is it going to be higher than the stock redline? or does it depend on the grinds?

1 the ecu does a good job of this imho, on my 2.2 i saw up to 50 degrees of advance when pounding on it, run "plus" gas if you think your not getting all the advance you should be
2 yes the will both run with the stock ecu, but tuining gets more out of the stage 2 cams, plus cams are a lot more $$ for the dohc motors...
3 does depend on the grind*, the stg 2 moves the power band between ~2200 and past the stock redline, stg 1 is between ~1200 & 5500
*for the sohc cams anyways

ok thank you and yess I noticed a small increase in performance and a nice increase in gas milage when switching to 89.
I know there expensive but id like to get regrinds from Delta when shit quits braking on my car (water pump, thermostat, wheel bearing...). So without a tune will I still get some more usable power out of stage 2's vs. stage one's and then I can get there full potential when I save some more and decide on an EM.
P.S. how do you monitor timing advance scan gauge II?

What can I expect for power gains from each?

intake + cams+ exhaust ~+35hp i guess i'm honestly not too sure
and no idea on the scan gauge i use an obdii scanner that has a log function
