My 97 GT just had it's first track day. My company rents a track at Summit Point ever year and we get to tear up our cars for the day at no cost. Never mind the Prius in the background, those are our shop vehicles we were throwing around. The last pic is the car on the skid pad mid-spin.

I work for Curry's Auto Service. We have six locations throughout the DC area. We actually did bring a bunch of our good customers and I had a few friends out as well.

We won't be going out to Summit until next spring. I think we have a few Audi/Porsche/Corvette club HPDE's that a few of the guys from work and myself are going to though.

All the clubs should have a list of events for the year. Just stay away from Ferrari club, bunch of pricks.

I heard that!

just kidding! I actually agree with you. We (me and a few owners) never see eye-to-eye. They hate it that I treat them like sh*t and won't respect them. A car is a car... It doesn't make you any better than anyone else.

I'm liking the action shots BTW. Good stuff.

The car did really well actually. I heated up the pads too much on my first run and had to pit. But I figured out the track after that and was able to keep pad temps down.

As for mods, the car had KYB GR2s installed by the PO, but other than that, the car is factory. I played around with my tire pressures and stripped out the rear seats, spare tire, center console and small extras to get rid of some weight.

I knew the pads weren't track ready, but the seats really lacked any support. I also had some trouble rotating the car, too much understeer in the harder turns. I think some anti-roll bars and a more track oriented alignment should help. We shall see after the next track day...

I just didn't like how the Ferrari club babies their cars. If you can't afford to drive it like you stole it, then don't own it.

No, I drive to and from work daily. But after the track day the other day, I plan to have it out there much more often. I just need seats, pads and tires.
