LCD Odometer is just showing dashes??

Hi
Ive just got a 2000 2.5 Legacy Est. on lpg. Alls well except the odometer (mileometer) only displays dashes. When you press the button to use it as a trip meter however, that part works ok (in other words its not the display itself which is at fault).

Anyone got any ideas? (the speedo itself works fine)

I don't understand the description of your problem.
Does the tripmeter or the odometer work?
If the odo is showing, press the button once to change to tripmeter, to reset the tripmeter just push and hold the button.

When you use it as a trip meter, it displays the miles since last reset as it should. When you push the button to use it as an odometer, it displays dashes.

OK, let me simplify.


Total miles on the car doesn't show, but short trip mileage shows and resets.... right?


I might be wrong, as we didn't get these over here in the states, but it sounds like you have a burnt out sensor somewhere or you need another cluster.

Yes, Thats correct. Its not somethingn im unduly bothered about as I dont need to know how many miles its done but its just nice to have stuff working.

Have you ever at any point, removed the unit? If so, can you do it again? and take a pic of the back (and front too) of the unit and post it here?
