just how much can you mod a subaru legacy gt 98?

like, is there anyway to make the legacy faster or as fast as a sti? If i wanted to make it accelerate faster than an sti what is needed to be done? estimated price for all the mods/labor? thanks my goal is to one day beat my friends sti! and im just curious if it'll be cheaper than an sti since after all my legacy gt still looks so much cooler!

They are big Legos. Full STi drivetrain can be swapped into your Legacy. Suspension is the only thing that will differ, and only slightly in some cases.

You can use 04 STI suspension as well with pretty much no modification, or anything designed to fit an 02-07 WRX as long as you swap the complete setup.

A complete sti drivetrain will fit as in it will all bolt into the car, but the engine specifically takes a considerable amount of work to get it to run properly.

Your question is basically my exact goal for my car. I'm gunning for my friends 04 STI. :)
