Hi! Greetings from - soon to be - snowy Norway! I bought recently two Legacyies, one which is primarely in good condition, but with a hazardous engine-malfunction, and one more, which is soon to be scrapped, but with a good engine. So I was thinking of an engine-swap. I'm more of a hobby-mechanic, and I've never ever done an engine-swap before. Could somebody please give me a how-to for this? I would really apreciate it!

I couldn't find any search-engine at this site, is it a a problem with my internet-program maybe? I'm using Firefox.

In advance, thanks!

Check the TOP RIGHT. Its kind of hard to see but there is a search bar just above the [FAQ] [Members] [Login] section ^^^

Any information that I can give you has already been posted in various threads. Check out "Swaps & Conversion" section on the main page.

But simply put. The engine itself is a simple swap. Mechanicly all subarus are relativly the same. The new engine needs to have the wiring harness and computer (ECU) that came with it.

Then its the hard part. Merging all the wires from your body to the engine harness. Lots of hours and annoying nights.

Enjoy and do some more research before you create a thread monster.

Cheers

Here's a pictoral, it should be *similar* to what you're doing but hopefully close enough.
