Hi,

I own a 99 Legacy GT with manual seats. The driver's side is a bit uncomfortable for me with my body shape and stresses my back and legs. I am looking for a plug and play swap. Can I go to a salvage yard and swap my manual (and somewhat flat) seat for a Forrester, Outback or Legacy Power Seat (and what years would match)? Thanks.

yes any Subaru seat will work.. not sure about current models.

Keep in mind that impreza seats sit higher then legacy seats and i think the same goes with foresters..

Its plug and play.,. Unless your looking for heated options.

Saab seats win tones of awards. Get some from a saab 9-2 x and it should be plug and play.

02-03 wrx seats. The later wrx seats all LOOK racier, but theyre made to fit fat americans.

02-03 wrx seats are hands down still one of my best mods. I can't imagine riding in the stock seats on long drives.

I'll also put in a plug for the 02-03 seats. I'm 5'11" and 170 lb, and they fit my butt perfectly.

02-03 are awesome, i THINK the RS seats before it were the same, if not very similar

The RS seats are a similar shape but aren't as heavily bolstered...on a daily driver this could be a good thing as constantly going in and out of the car tends to wear the fabric on the 02-03 bolsters...which aren't made of the thickest material to begin with.

The rs seat is better than the 02-03 wrx seat if weight is a factor because the rs seat doesn't have an airbag

I got seats from a 98 RS. They aren't quite as cool looking as the charcoal leather ones the car came with, but they are a million percent more comfortable and the bolstering is much better. I spent about 11 hrs in those seats last sunday, and even with my coilovers, I still felt fine at the end of the trip. They also weigh about 1/2 as much as my stock seats.
