Central locking acknowledgement

2000 2.5 Legacy GX. Remote central locking. Is there any way to make the car acknowledge this? such as a beep or a light flash?
I only ask as on my BMW I had to program the car to flash on unlocking, it wasnt set by default! Is there a similar thing on the Legacy?

try holding down both buttons on the key fob for a few secs. I think that turns on something like that.

hmm thats wierd I just did this with mine a couple weeks ago. There must have been more than one keyless system that went into 3rd gens then. Sorry I could not help you furthur.

possibly. yours is an 02 and mines a 2000. my keyfob is a small black one with two buttons which looks just like the key. (without the key bit!)

I have the same car, only a year newer. Mine don't flash either.
Also tried the push both buttons sollution but it did not work.

Actually I turned mine off like 2 days after I turned it on. It beeped more than once when I locked and when I unlocked it and it was loud. I usually can hear the sound of the mechanisms locking and unlocking so I don't mind not having a beep.

I dont hear it when i lock the car, but when i unlock it i hear it. It's just a little bit better knowing for sure without going back and checking the doors.
