Hi there, I am pretty new here, but not new to Subaru's!

First.. at the age of 16, my dad gave me a 1990 Legacy Wagon LS ( full equipped), it was my grand father car and needed work.

Well I was super happy! I put alot of work on it, to keep it clean looking.

I then started to look for a nicer car, younger and more reliable. In the middle of my 17's, I bought a 2002 perle white Outback manual! It was so rare!

After that I did some cosmetic things to her ( Blacked out headlight, red tailights to get rid of the ugly amber, tinted windows, etc etc) and here she finally sits with her winter setup with mudlflaps and a JDM cluster on the way!

The plans for her is a H6 swap, just bought some suspensions to lower her in the summer and a few more littles things!

- Headlight retrofit (FX-R bi xenon with Matsushita ballast and Philips 85122+ bulbs)

- LGT 07 5mt shif knob (Hated the 5mt 00-04)

My goal is to put an 3.0 H6 with an Easton supercharger ( Will have to review the choice of superchargers, but Easton looks like one of the simplest to try first and then upgrade as the testing go on.)

I forgot, I have and Excedy stage 1 cluth-pressureplate with a Excedy lightweight flywheel in it to :twisted:

02 Legacy: I put 3 coats of candie apple red then 2 coats of clear that is UV resistant. Its super nice!


Chuck: Well, my 2.5 is really dying, taking alot of oil and I just want it gone. Swapping WRX or STI was an option, but I just want something else. The 2.5's are just not for me, tired of all the problems with them. H6 are alot more reliable!

Thanks alot guys! I am trying to find the right H6 to buy to do the swap! Its really hard to find one at a decent price since I juste want the motor and wiring :lol:

Httrdd, someone who did an H6 swap on here, bought an SVX with a bad tranny and parted everything out besides the engine and harness and actually made money. Its more effort, but it's a free engine. Just a suggestion.

Actually its pretty much the plan! Buy a wrecked BH H6 Outback and resell the parts left off mine and the other one :P

Finished my BFM cluster, and almost received all my parts to do a projector retrofit in my headlights ( Fx45 projector), tired of the HID's!

I like the projectors, nice work. They would look better in L housings because there is no shroud in the middle since L are a single high/low bulb. Are you gonna put in angel eyes for DRL's? Did you think about dual projectors too? I would love to see someone try that...

I kinda like the dual Outback lights, because in daylight it looks better with the shroud, but I guess its all personnal! Its because I have 2 pairs of Outback lights and no GT lights.

With Fx-R projectors, a dual projector is almost impossible, I tried but the Fx-R projector is just to big. It almost takes all the lights...

But I have seen some with Caddy projector, or other smaller projector!

Great job. Very impressed with your progress. Finding a BE or BH H6 equipped car is going to be interesting... even here in AWD land I have only seen 2 in the past 3 years. But GL!

I always thought that was the better option of swapping an H6 in, that way you have the harness and the ECU.

Yes sir I bought the car (with pickup on trailer) for $900 and made around 4 grand on it. I still have a couple more things to sell and on it then scrap the shell.

Ah a frenchy :-D I just came back from Montreal and I had to stop at La Banquise @ 994 Rachel Est mmmmmmmm.

I would stay away from S-Tech coils.. read the reviews... swap them for real lowering springs like Hotchkis / Ground Control / Prova / Pro-Drive / etc..

Well, the S-Tech are already bought, go a deal.. but I didnt want to pay alot just to try if I like it. So I will run them for a bit this summer, and might go coilovers after.

I promise you.... those S-Techs are garbage and your ride will feel like cottage cheese... read the 100+ thread on NASIOC... the problem with S-Techs is that there were a massive batch of knock-offs made that looked almost identical besides the patent number on the coil... You could actually have real S-Techs but i doubt it if the price was super low.

I used all OEM stuffs
FX-R bixenon projector (High and low)
Philips 85122+ bulbs
Matsushita Gen 2 bulbs
And the shroud (The little crome thing) is a E55R (You can choose whatever you wants)

I should be able to do a DIY soon, I have 2 other sets of headlights in the house and I want to sell mine as they are not perfect from the engine bay.

Oh ahd they are HID, except the good ones, not the stupid ones who blinds everyone in the halogen reflector ;)

I honestly think bake and pull the headlights back apart, paint the turn/running light area and paint the chrome projector ring. Your headlights would make the front end 10x better! Still looks pretty good!! JDM grill am sure is next.

Thanks, grill, yeah, I tought it didn't really stand out, I was wrong! But the Legacy B4 alu hood will be bought before the grill, money wise!
For the projectors, well, I have 3 other sets of headlights, might do a brand new one, or just put it back OEM without te reflector, I will post pictures of the few styles of headlights I have in my garage!!
Oh, and should I do a lip? I might try since I have a spare bumper in my garage, your opinions?

If you do a lip, you'll need rear spats or a rear lip to balance it out. Should think about upgrading your steering wheel too!

BH/BE spats would fit. There was a set on ebay not long ago or Yamazaki might be able to find a set for you in Japan.

No idea what wheel would be best - if I could bring myself to delete my airbag unit I'd go with a 4 spoke wheel around 320mm in diameter. It's a nice way to get quicker steering response but you sacrifice an active safety system.

Looking to get 15mm spacers for the front, and 20mm for the rear, to be hellaflush.. Anyone tried a rack fairing from Thule on your Outback? I don't know if it fit okay..

Starting a new project, i'm trying to find a H6 Outback to put STI pistons in it and rebuilt it, then put it in my Outback! 5mt H6 Outback :)

Wont be a swap, but I am making alot of research because it haven't been done..

The difference between me and other people is I will have a FULL front clip, so no missing little sensors that can ruin the swap.

I have until saturday to decide wheter it will be a Ez36R, Ez30R or STI front clip. I have those 3 choices.

STI would be the easiest, but so overdone..

I have a full front clip, so I would be transfering the things, and using the new cluster. It might be a 3.0R if the 3.6R is to complicated.

Haven't received my LGT STI yet.. Should be next weekend.

I'll have the Outback back in a few months, it's getting a full STI v8 swap with brembos and 6 speed! I need to finish the installation of the BP powerfolind mirrors on the Outback and a few other goodies, then she is off to the swap!

After that i'll sell the BP and buy back the Outback, I freaking love this car.. almost 2 years that I got it at 17, she is my baby.. But I need to drive something else for a few weeks-months.

Those are going on my LGT STI, but the car is at the garage at the moment and I wanted to run those wheels haha!

Doing the Home Depot lip today on the front and might do the rear bumper.

There is alot of goodies added through times, I know it's hard to keep up haha!
Engine well if my LGT still has ALOT of problems, i'll just get rid of it. I am getting some estimation for a v9 STI engine with v9 tranmission and rear DCCD-Brembo conversion for the Outback.

how do u like the hub adapters u can drive fast? any problems with them?

No problem with them! Really happy about the drive! They are on my Lgt for the moment and never had issues!
