I wanted to replace the bulbs in the climate control unit using this quide:

..they start by removing the cupholder, problem is, my car doesnt have one...

All i have is a piece of plastic, seen above, which seems to be a bit loose but still hard to remove, i cant get it out...
I havent tried forcing it out too much cuz i didnt want to damage the surrounding plastic...
Does anyone know how to get it out..?

Thanks.

Holy.. I've never seen that type of setup. Digital Climate w/ serious fake wood.

Try attacking the setup from the bottom. You may get lucky and notice that the "cupholder cover" is just held in by pressure.

Here is the DIY for USDM models.

IMHO take some tape and cover the edges of the dash/plastic . Take a thin flat head screw driver and just pry the cover off. "IF" it breaks then good news you can install a cup holder now.. if it doesn't break off then your good to go.

WOW! Yeah.. that IS something rare. I have never even seen a 'wood' cup holder before! Crazy! Let alone that digital climate control / clock or whatever the hell that is! Very cool!

It's a Headlight adjustment switch w/ clock. (EDM)
The wood trim looks like a add on,
I'm wondering if the cupholder is under the
stick-on wood trim?

That wood trim is stick on - you can see that the sides are exposed black plastic.
The cupholder section is probably just stuck, push it in a few times and heat it with a hairdryer.
