Ok, I am doing a 5mt swap om my 99 GT, and I have the chance to get a VLSD out of an '01 H6 LL Bean edition, From what i can find it has the same 4.11 final drive as the 5MT in the 99 outback i am sourcing the transmission from.
I know I need the axles as well, so my question is will the 2001 axles work on my '99 hubs? or will I need to swap the CV's over or something?

The BE/BH axles will not work. Different P/N's.
Keep in mind that the later tranny might have a different speed sensor also...

I grabbed the VLSD off a 2000 Outback w/ winter package yesterday, the axles look the same, but I remember reading they are a different length than the 1st/2nd gen's. Either way, the VLSD in question should take standard 2nd gen rear axles, not a special type like the 1st gen turbos (male to female).

You can reuse your axles AFAIK. All the viscous type LSD rear ends I've seen use the same axles as the open ones.
I'm running a 2.5RS VLSD with my old axles.

^ i think he is saying that the rear diff from the old TLegs are stubbed.
