I know it's not hard to do but I was just wondering when doing the gasket what do I need to unhook and watch out for? I'm guessing a audible leak would cause a decent drop in power?
All you need to do is unbolt the intake manifold from the heads.

Do I have enough room to clean the surfaces without needing to worry about short wires?

Yes, I've removed a head without removing the intake manifold, just be careful when lifting it but you should be able to get at least an inch of lift.

I know, I was just saying that as a point of reference that you can get enough room to work on the IM gasket without having to completely remove the IM.

If your gaskets can come off clean you can just take the bolts off and swap the gaskets. But most likely they will stick and the whole IM will have to be removed. It will take longer but to clean the surface andnot have anything fall in the head is the better option. It is a pain in the ass to remove the IM though.

yeah I'm figuring it's going to stick but I will try and get around to it before the end of this month.

also a IM leak would that cause a power loss? I'm going to guess that cylinder is also going to run leaner?
