There is nothing there in my car. There is a cover, like jewbaru has, but there is no compartment behind it.

Yeah I have it in my car too. I didnt get the "smoking" package or whatever. My car didnt come with the rear ash tray or a functional lighter on the 12v cig lighter

Mine came with a ashtray in there. Silly location when i think about it.
Open can of soda in the cupholders, light up and fill your can with ashes.

It's for passengers.

You must have some REALLY SMALL passengers!

Both the cupholders and the ashtray will work with 2 passengers in the rear, 3 then it will be a bit tight.
@Huffer, Duu-uh i have one in front for the driver/passenger. I meant it was a bad idea to use it if you have drinks in the cupholders.

even the one in the front sucks to get too. i personally dont use mine. but it seems that the shifter would be in the way a little, specially for the passenger

How about the container in front of the fuse box next to the steering wheel? I used to keep change in there.

haha, it took me like 2 weeks of having the car till i finally realized that. i thought it was just a door for the fuse box, then i opened it one day and almost shat. :tongue9:
still not inconspicuous enough tho. needs to be something hiden

Sounds like a neat DIY project... anybody want to give it a try?

I've been thinking about that. I'm a fan of the foam tray on the spare tire. But I think a DIY would be sick. Time to start lookin around haha

Cut out a slot under the armrest on the door, and you can probably insert the rear passenger ashtray there.

Well, i use my air filterbox when i go to sweden. put a roll of snus in there, fits nicely and does not restrict airflow to much.
Also used the inside of the doors, subwoofer box, inside rear bumper. :P
Lots of places to put your weed.

Has anyone else found the slide out tray under the passenger seat??

slide out ash tray under the seat? on what bodystyle?
Has anyone else found the slide out tray under the passenger seat??
That's cheating Dave!
...but now I am going to have to go take a look in the outbacks, I really don't remember seeing one in there, and I cleaned my wifes car extensively when we picked it up.
My SVX has not had that tray in it since 2004! (I have something else hiding there)
There's actually some room under the rear seat bottom cushion to store flat/skinny things without it interfering with the locking/position of the seat cushion itself. That's where I currently keep my breaker bar, which has already come in handy for side-of-the-road alternator repairs twice.
Another not-as-secret compartment I have now is the airbags - they have already deployed so I removed them and it serves as a secondary glovebox/gauge pod  Haven't put anything inside the steering wheel yet...

yea, i could do that, but my rear seat is bolted down.. haha

No tray in either... but the SVX tray is has been holding misc drill bits in my hall closet since we bought this place in 2007 apparently
