Tire size Question? Please reply asap

I have a 2001 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Sedan. Im running 05 Legacy rims and I was wondering if I can run 235/45r/17 with out it rubbing or any problems? They will only be snow tires and only be ran during the winter. But I will be wanting to do some snow drifting.

235 is a massive width for a 7" wide rim - and for snow tires it's not smart. Narrower is better in the winter.
You should stick to 205/50/17 for the snow tires. You'll get better grip in the snow and more overall traction.
Save the wide tires for summer.
