Projector light sides

i wonder if it is possible to switch the projector housing from one side to the other. since the lights are meant for RHD cars. my HIDs project more light onto on-coming traffic. which results in the poor saps high-beam-flashing me.

I'm guessing you have JDM projectors.

Take a look at the retrofit guides in the DIY forum. Basically, you swap the JDM RHD projector unit inside the headlight housing, and swap it for any number of USDM projectors. I used FX35 projectors, and I absolutely love them.

Have you tried aiming your lights all the way to the right? This usually solves most of the problem.

Have you tried aiming your lights all the way to the right? This usually solves most of the problem.

did. http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html. the lights have a level cut off at about 25 & 30 feet. but at about 50 yards the left beam is noticeably higher. unfortunately central Oregon is the land of the courteous driver. if the switch cant be done, ill just have to continue flashing people back. :neutral:

havent been highbeamed yet...since i lowered my cutoff line lol.

I havent touched mine (adjusting wise) and have no problems with people flashing me, but the right side is way off.

Are you guys running HIDs though? with regular H1 bulbs it was a non issue. as soon as i installed the 5000k HIDs i noticed the RHD setup problem.

yep i was running 5k bulbs now im using 4300k, no problems with one side being loopy.

fixed. my local merc dealer had one of those optical beamsetters. test drove for 30 min last night no flashing :smt023

maybe one of these? i figured since most Mercedes have projectors lights. so i started my search for the setters there. worked out well i think.

Same, except I used replicas.

Before that, I disassembled the JDM projectors and modified the cutoff plate so that it created a flat line, and then just aimed accordingly.

thats a nice cutoff. i need to realign my cutoffs so its one single beam instead of two little notches.
