so im getting ready to turbo my 02 gt limited (BE) but i have a few questions just to make sure i know what all i need to do. so i have an intercooler and custom piping done. i just want to know will i have to modify the uppipe/ down pipe to get them to fit? and where will my oil lines for the turbo come from on the engine?

Crawford Performance sells brand new OEM STI pistons & rods for dirt cheap, this would increase the life of your boosted motor & potential for boosting as well.

If im not mistaken (which I very well could be) They will work as long as you install a crossmember from a turbo car, or modify the one you have.

gc/gd up and dump pipe will work with factory wrx or after market bolt on headers. they will keep the turbo in the factory position same as wrx. some after market dumps will need to be hit with a mallet and dented in a tiny bit as they can foul on the steering column knuckle. As mentioned above, get yourself a turbo cross member

I'm almost 100% positive that oem style header/up pipe will not work with a ej251 heads (SOHC) even if you do use a turbo cross member. I believe the piping hits the heads.
Either way you are going to want a turbo cross member or to modify your crossmember to gain the space to get the up pipe in. and as i just mentioned, I think you will have to modify the uppipe and downpipe as well.
what header were you going to use?

Interesting - are there significant changes from the EJ253 to EJ251 that would cause this? The stock header and uppipe works fine with my EJ253 heads.

there is litteraly no difference between the ej251-3 except the ej251 is a map not a maf
