I have a 1995 legacy L with the two port headers to 1 set up. The pipe cracked right when the headers meets the cat but im getting rid of that any ways. so what will fit. has a ej22 in it.

Almost all aftermarket headers for an NA Subaru application will fit since they're designed for those dual-port heads.

Pshhh, I ran 3 different "perfect" fitting replica headers, all 3 fitted like crap. Finally bought the real borla, perfect fitment and the sound/tone was different. Never had a crack and lifetime warranty too. Seriously spend the xtra money on the real ones.

ok so i bought the borla headers off ebay for around $375. shipping says 5-7 days so im just waiting now. Heres the deal i have around 6k for a new car and i was looking at a new 2008 subaru leggie with 35k on it, but the kicker is im deploying in 7 months to afgainistan for a year so i thought why not drop the money in my wagon and when i get back with more money make her one of the rare 700 whp subaru wagons out there. :smt007 im getting a new body kit painting her white also i have half the interior done already pics to come soon. any suggestions with motor tranny setups?

Do a full STI swap and 6MT with a twin scroll setup will get you there or spend $20k on a built cossworth motor witch is a little over rated.

Dreamer... if you're getting deployed, sell the car and bank the money.

I made the mistake of selling a car i loved before  . i had a 1996 nissan 240 with a swapped ls1 in it and when i left i sold it to my friend for cheap. when i left three weeks later he wrapped her around a poll. so this one is going in my uncles garage and not getting sold!!!!!!!!!!!

+1 on keeping a car that you love. Besides a 95 Legacy is hardly worth any money anyway. For that same reason though, think hard before dropping $6k of mods into an old car. I've got a turbo motor swap in my 95 Legacy but I will never sell it.

But right now that car isn't worth much and will be worth even less when you get back (assuming the worst doesn't happen).

If you took that money, banked it and let it grow, when you get back you could buy a better condition vehicle for a swap, swap it and not have had to deal with the issue of a vehicle that "used to run but now doesn't". And what if you consider going career in the military? Then what?

There's no point to holding onto stuff if you don't know where you'll be.

Anyway, get Borla headers for a perfect fit.

Good condition ones with a clean title here in the Washington/Oregon cost 2-3 grand.

Keep the car if it has some sentimental value...can't really put a price on that. But think carefully just how much money you'd be losing if the car really doesn't mean that much to you.

I'm in the same boat as jey though, 10k into the car and it runs 98% of what I want any car to be...I'm keeping it until it's scrap.

It also kind of helps that most new cars today drive like crap anyway (even/especially the newer subarus) and I'd have to dump at least a couple of grand to make them "run right"...so either way I'm spending some sort of money.

Is this still a car forum? With interest rates the way they are I'd rather talk about cars :)

Ok I got the borla headers in! First off for $400 it should come with gaskets and new bolts! Not a free hat that is made poorly! Fitment of theis headers were horrible, if I wasn't at a big shop that had to heat them up and bend them they woudnt have fit. The worst part was that they sat about a inch to far so I had to do a cat delete on site! Sounds great tho and no weird smells or any thing :) drove it about 1000 miles this week end to PA and back to NY again and she got about 220 per tank. So I'm happy :)

I bought these:
http://www.speedyracer.com/servlet/the- ... for/Detail (http://www.speedyracer.com/servlet/the-173/Subaru-Impreza-Header-for/Detail)

135 bucks. All hardware included. They fit perfectly, no bending to be done. Welds are good, no cracks and they're a year and half old now. Just a bolt up and forget thing, no freak outs.

I didn't use their gaskets though, I ordered some Felpros.

These headers took a few direct hits from road debris, a lot of fast driving on hard packed dirt roads.. no problems.
They are no longer chrome though, they have oxidized but they're intact.

Wow, never herd of borla having fitment problem. You better of called them on it since everyone is hand made here in the US. Agreed the gaskets should be included but what can you do.
