My car acting wierd

I was driving around my neighborhood like 45 minutes ago when all of a sudden my car just turns off on its own, then a minute later I put it in park and turn it on, it takes 4 seconds to start but also when it started my check engine light came on and stayed on. dose anybody have an idea what could be wrong?

I know its not the crankshaft censer because I put a new one in two months ago.

run the scanner and get the code first then go from there.

what subyfreak said, we don't have much to go on otherwise. Reading the code should always be the first step no matter the symptoms.
