i am going back to the stock airbox with the metal tubing.....what did u put after the MAF, it looks like u added another silicone coupler but is there anything like a pipe inside of it.... a closer pic would be nice but not needed.....

How did you get power mode on OBD II? I know for OBD I its just grounding one pin from the tcu but I didn't know it was possible on a outback or second gen. legacy.

Yes, theres a piece of aluminum tubing inside connecting the two silicone lines.

Heres the thread on it.

Thanks, so I pretty sure Ive found a way to light up "SUBARU" on the rear garnish. Once i get some money thats what ill be doing next, ill post a DYI about it too. I was also thinking about some illuminated door sills.
Danny-G
02-15-2011, 01:22 AM
Could the light up rear garnish be applied to a sedan, specificly a 93? Once the DIY is up I'll probably study it then suggest it to my mom for her outback.
csweston
02-15-2011, 01:37 AM
Yeah, should be applicable to just about any car with a rear garnish like mine.

I have a quick question about.your headers........does it interfere with the oil filter at all?? And does it attach to the cats in the stock location??
csweston
08-12-2011, 11:59 PM
Everything bolts right up. Matches up with the cat perfecty and didn't interfere with the oil filter. My only complaint is that initially it rubbed the fsb, but the exhaust shop fixed that.
I forgot to update my thread, but subie is down with a blown head gasket.
chrish8r

I blew my head gasket like three or four years ago.......it cost a pretty penny

how is that headgasket going??? i tried getting that plastic scoop part that you put vinyl on and it wouldnt come out....i think the bolts are stripped or something

Im at school 300 miles away. So as of right now the car is still sitting :( Make get it done over christmas break. Ill also have coils and wheels on after the head gasket is done. Sad that im still shopping for parts even without a car.
I never had an issue with my scoop, you might be right on the stripped screws unfortunately.

Wink wink. H6 SWAP! There is a ez30 right in here and a bunch of ez30rs posted for sale.
csweston
10-18-2011, 09:01 PM
I want to sooooo bad! I wanna go with the ez30r, but need a standalone to run it. My car being a 97, it wont pass emissions with OBD II :-(
Heres my plan. Fix my car now, lower and rims. Keep as DD
Buy pre 97 impreza coupe and swap ez30r
httrdd
10-18-2011, 10:27 PM
Why not emissions? If the engine is newer obd1-obd2 does not matter. You are just not allowed to put an older engine in your car.
csweston
10-19-2011, 02:18 AM
Have to have the OBD II port to pass emissions here. From what ive gathered its near impossible to use the OEM ECU for the EZ30R swap, plus with a standalone, better tuning.
httrdd
10-19-2011, 09:09 AM
Yes a stand alone allows much better tunning for sure. I am going to get a stand alone soon to get more out of my H6. Suck about your strict emissions. Mine is gas cap test and visual cats. Lol.
csweston
10-19-2011, 07:02 PM
Lucky! ha, Question for you though, how would you say your H6 swap hold up against a WRX or STi? Not necessarily in a race, but in over all fun factor? I would assume with the available low down torque you could have more fun in town. (Not sure if youve ridden/ driven an sti or wrx to compare?)
httrdd
10-19-2011, 07:46 PM
I am going to line up on a couple Wrxs ans STis soon so i will have to let you know. I did sort of line up on my buddies 05 LGT. Took him in 3rd, but was a shitty line up. I am going to do a 2nd roll soon againt him so stayed tuned. The driveability of an H6 is great especially in the snow. No waiting for spoll and all you need to control is the gas pedal. Cars are never fast enough for me so i am still modding

It's alive! And just in time, its been snowing for days here.
Had the head gaskets replaced and engine completely resealed along with new rear separator plate. And got a good deal :)
