New brakes, what should i get?

I have the stock brakes on my 01 2.5 and need new brakes front and rear, And since they are basicly dead, what would i need to upgrade them?
I know the 4pot/2pot conversion will fit but what rotor diameter/pads does that require and what size do i need my rims to be?
Also need a partsnumber on the caliper sealkit.

New performance pads, stainless braided lines and fresh blank rotors would feel like a huge upgrade to you. That said, if you want to spend the money on an upgrade the WRX 2pot brake rotors are much larger, the 4pots are obviously best but they are pricier. For the rear you could do the legacy h6 conversion which offers a big rotor for q cheap price.

I found 4pot/2pot Impreza brakes on rpmgarage, got me thinking.
Think the brakes on the car are 9 year old originals, the pads even freeze to the rotors at -5c

Then swap the brakes when you do the WRX swap.
For now, new pads, rotors, fluid and stainless brake lines will suffice.

Not sure about the 3rd gen, but the stock 2nd gen LGT brakes with fresh fluid, performance pads and new rotors work pretty well. They take a pretty serious beating before fading. FAR better than many other similar cars.

Think the calipers need renovation too. The brakes freeze when the car is parked and they freeze hard. Rev it up to 2-2500rpm and drop the clutch to free the car. Tells me the pistons/gaskets needs to be looked at.
Anyhow, what is the stock dimensions of the discs and pads? want something better than stock.

10.7" or 11.4" front (11.4" is the same diameter as WRX and 4 pots), 11.3" rear...sorry I can't convert these to mm off the top of my head...

Brake size does not follow a linear path with improved braking capability.

If your brakes are seizing and generally need a rebuild, then my suggestion is to just order "fully loaded calipers" and rotors from the vehicle that has the brakes you want. So if you want 4 pot/2pot brakes from a WRX as an upgrade (and check your wheel clearance on these), then just buy a loaded set as you'll get brake caliper, caliper brackets and pads already assembled and ready to bolt on. You'll just need rotors.

ie. For my 1998 Legacy GT, I upgraded my rear brakes to the bigger 2004 Legacy GT aka "H6" brakes. I just ordered a set of rotors for the 2004, and a set of loaded calipers. Everything arrived together, I removed my old brakes at the brake line, installed the new ones, bled and drove away. Total cost was around US$300.

When my front brakes go, I will be installing 2004 Legacy GT front brakes using the same method.
