I just finished installing my new HGs. Nothing is wrong like overheating. The problem is when i first put on the car batteries, both signal lights and my dashboard starts blinking. later on the signal lights stopped blinking but only the dashboard is blinking. I turned of the engine lock all doors, but still the signal light is on and the dashboard is blinking. Please if anyone can help with this matter i will be more than glad...

Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT 1997 Sedan. Manual Transmission.

I wanna say this has to do with something that some subarus had. It was an anti theft kinda deal?

Someone correct me please.

Yep, the factory security system is waiting for you to reset or use the remote.

Oh ok. That's what i was thinking but didn't believed in myself since when i bought the car, i wasn't using the remote due to no battery and the symptoms wasn't there. I have to buy some batteries then and hopefully it will be gone... I will update you guys about it. Thanks for the posts!

Under the dash, usually on the far left side, there is a small button. Turn the key on, press the button. Lights should stop flashing.

That freaked me out the first time that happened because I didn't have a battery for the remote when I got the car. Now it's just part of the plan to keep the keys around when I plug the battery back in.

Whoah! Thanks for all the post guys! I bought a new battery for my remote and gone are all the blinking of the signal lights and dashboard lights. Weee!!! :-)
