The turbo Outback destroyed the transmission :(

My turbo Outback ate through its first trans on Saturday. Was ripping balls in boost around a turn and onto a rainy onramp, spinning tires, hit the next gear and heard rocks go thru the trans. Funny part is the car still starts and runs like it is in neutral, but the shift lever is jammed in 2nd and wont move at all. That trans put up with a lot of abuse considering the nature of the car and the torque that it produces, so I'm in the market for a 4.11 transmission now.

In the garage next to the other toy, where it will stay for a while.

yea, thats guna happen... i expect it to happen to me in the future... good luck on finding a the new trans!

Yea man these trannies really dont handle torque well. I am slipping in 3rd on mine and shiting is getting worse (4eat). Time for a 5mt/6mt swap!

Like GLASS.. I keep telling everyone.. :-p 6MT or PPG gears .... but ya must of been a strange feeling when your stomach just dropped and your heart stopped...

Yeah the 5MT isn't great for any kind of performance application, especially the NA ones. But not everyone can swallow the $3000 price tag for the 6MT combo.
