so besides the deer i demolished the other day, my cars been running fine lately. Untill this morning now i know its cold so could this be the problem? yet ive never had this issue with any other car. i started it up it cranked over fine then started and idled almost as if it had some insane cam in it. it was loud cranking and clunking noises while the rpms would go up then down like a drag car. it smelt rather rich as well. after warming up it was idleing normal. it was just weird at first. anyone else have this problem? last winter it didnt do this at all thats why im worried a little. also my cars parked on a hill and i was low on gas so low my fuel light came on after idleing for a few mins. could it be just how insanely brick it is in north jersey? or something going wrong?
thanks

good old cold starts.... all controlled by your IAC valve.. or IACV.. take it a part and clean it.. search sli for info..

I had a hell of a time removing my IVAC (Actually never got it fully removed)
Took the big hose off, and the 2 little ones. Then the 2 bolts. Thing wouldn't come off. Did I miss something? I'd like to give it a fresh gasket and a full cleaning (I put carb cleaner in the tubing)
What engine is this? All the IACs I can think of are plungers or stepper motors - no hoses going to it.

EJ25D has (off the top of my head) a tube leading from the intake ducting to IAC, and then 2 coolant lines (which are what actually control the cold high idle). I know the Legacy EJ22 IAC is different.
