i know some of you have some funny stories out there. so whats the weirdest thing you have done with a subaru part that doesnt involve putting it on a subaru. ill start.
i got hold of a factory jdm twin turbo setup for the the legacy, turns out it was more work than i wanted to get into (the steering rack issue with USDM cars) so i gave it to a local race shop in exchange for some work done to my car. well im friends with a few of the guys that work there so about 2 weeks after i gave them the setup, one of them called me up and told i HAD to get there that second to see what they did. they took one of the turbos and somehow hooked it up to their shop golf cart, then dynoed it, lol. the golf cart went from 6hp to 11. i have a video of it somewhere.
ok go

ya....haha...well if you think about it, they almost doubled the hp. imaging putting ONLY a turbo on any car, you couldnt double the hp.

OH!! i have another one, how could i forget about this one. i turned the snorkus into the equivalent of a full stick of dynamite. that was fun.

Nothing extreme for me. I have the two gears of the inside of a water pump as a paper weight.

nice. car part paper weights are always a nice touch to the office desk.
on my less extreme side, when i finished parting out my OB last winter, 2 of the tires were used by my dad cause he needed new trailer tires, they just happened to be the same size. i had put 4 brand new tires on my subby a month before i blew the engine.
i have a few other things ive done but not involving subaru parts. ill save those for the off-topic section though if anything comes up there.

I want a set of rims that I will never use (most likely my mesh rims) and stack them in twos with a 3x3 piece of glass as end tables, maybe for the man cave since the misses may not like that idea.

yeah, I've been cutting rims in half, to make into clocks (or something)
most of them have been free and bent.

We rigged up the coil from my old ej25d as the ignitor for the shop potato cannon. It's the expansion chamber from an old two stroke dirtbike and some other tubing. 10 seconds of o/a mix and that sucker will launch a potato 100 yards easy

that IS almost a 100% increase over stock, i'd say that efficientcy (sp?) at is finest
anywho, i took a twin port exhaust gasket (which looks mysteriously like a raccoon) and made funny animal noises with it. i'm actually planning on taking the one on my car to a vinyl shop and have the shape duplicated in sti pink with a machine turned gold style vinyl border.
best one though is i used the stock intake manifold on my gl-10 turbo to hold my beer (an' watch'iss) while i was repairing a variety of little things under the hood. the boost pipe needed to come off, and then it was like a beam of light hit it or something, i could almost hear a choir in the back ground, the rubber coupling sitting there on the intake, begging to hold my ice cold brew. like "hey man, i know you gotta get things fixed under there, want me to hold that for you? anything i can do to help?"

I used My off season wheels/tires (summers in the winter, winters in the summer) and the tailgate from my 76' Powerwagon as a coffee table/entertainment center for 2 years.
I also used the brake pedal from an auto-to-manual swap in my friends impreza as the garage-door-opener switch next to the door.
And lastly, I have a Lamp thats made out of the Crank/Rods/pistons from an EJ22T welded together and some toyota 22RE cam/valvetrain parts.

-Chuck"The power source of choice for this application? An EJ25 workhorse from a Subaru. Hopefully its not an early EJ25D though – the head gaskets could leak and ruin the carpet. Check it out in action."
LMAO idk whats funner the joke or the fact that the engine stated has no heads or head gaskets.
