Hey guys I swapped my car to 5spd not to long ago and I also chipped my legacy currently running 17psi. At first I never heard this squealing under full boost till a few weeks later. I am now curious what it might be? Some issues I have been running into include CEL on start up cold usually and can't accel till CEL goes off, misfire under partial throttle mostly when not fully warmed up and at full throttle it is DEFINITELY not as quick as it used to be.
Codes I got included purge solenoid and MAF.
Possibilities I am thinking spark plugs (I regapped old ones maybe they leak?), exhaust leak, boost leak, blown turbo, heatshield atleast explains the noise.
The car is pretty decent but I wouldn't consider the power to be extremely consistent.

1st things first.. check/clean your purge solenoid / MAF..
If your MAF is bad you are getting poor air/fuel mixture.. your motor wont boost properly and you can run into detonation if your not careful.
If your turbo is going you can by checking a few things:
-Shaft play ..
-Blown seals and oil everywhere/coolant/burning out the back
-propeller/impeller fins damaged/bent
-internal waste gate is stuck or spring is seized.
Other then that check you plugs.. is there oil on them? check your wires.. are they damaged/shorting out?
Cheers

Hey chuck, I pulled all the spark plug boots they all look clean. Decided to pull the pcv valve it was very gummed up cleaned it with some penetrating oil and also sprayed some penetrating oil into the hoses going to and from the bcs, and the purge solenoid. When it's warmer ill pull the maf and clean it with some maf sensor cleaner. I found some clamps a bit loose on the intercooler. When I go out tonight ill see how it runs. Regardless when I started it up definitely seemed like the engine was running much better.

Found the issue my uppipe gasket was leaking and my passenger side manifold bolts were loose and one was missing! Car is extremely queite now and definitely less lag, yet seems slower because it`s so much quieter!
