I recently got a Fixer Ticket in San Francisco, CA, parked (on a Sunday -_-), for not having a front license plate. I have a 1998 Legacy GT. I bought the car without holes drilled to the front bumper or the license plate attached. I want to retain the front bumper hole-less. Do you guys know of any front plate brackets that don't have to drill holes to the front?

It'll be ideal if they can be attached underneath without drilling any new holes, but holes out of sight can be fine, too. I want to see what options I have. Thanks.

EDIT:
I have a 1998 Legacy GT, BD Sedan

I have no idea where this bracket came from but it's pretty nice, just need the holes in the bumper inside the opening. I take mine off for the winter so my plate doesn't get smashed by snow. You could probably make one by getting some angle iron or if you want a thin one, get some flat sheet and find someone with a metal brake(used for bending metal). Here's some pics of mine, and yes I was eating christmas cookies while taking pics, don't mind the crumbs, lol.

Just 3M double automotive tape your plate to your bumper. lol. Peel it off for shows or whenever and just replace the tape when peeled off.

What happens when your neighborhood crackhead walks buy looking for something to torch his newest stash to get his fix, oh look this guy only used a bit of tape to keep his license plate on................

Well it's on topic... Hole-less way to mount the plate. LOL
That 3M is pretty sticky tape and had been on my old IS300 carbon spoiler to hold up to consist 100+ mph freeway cruising. Was just a thought :smt024

The GT bumper has two hole for the clips that hold the bracket inside the "mouth" of the bumper. Feel around or look up in there, you will see them.

Flip it upside down and drill it into your lip :-D JDM tight!

Or just go to your local hardware store and get some metal and bend it and drill/mount

TGX, what's the bracket look like when it's off? Where do you get the bracket from, is this a Subaru part?

I will look for the holes that hold the clips under the bumper once I get to my other home after New Years.

I see, thanks TGX, for taking the pictures.

Seems a bit rusty for my taste, and i think shipping from the east coast to the west is gonna cost a bit.

I think I might just found my solution with this:
http://www.amazon.com/Bell-Automotive-2 ... 374&sr=8-1 (http://www.amazon.com/Bell-Automotive-22-1-46230-8-Adjustable-Mounting/dp/B0013HP98C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294300374&sr=8-1)
Bell Adjustable Mounting Bracket.

Also I looked under the bumper and there are multiple holes for some sort of bracket. 3-5 holes, like for how the brackets above look. I tried searching online and asking the dealer, and found very vague information on it, and probably cost around $15 for it even if you find the right one.

Stick it on the dash, had a cop tell me I needed a front plate on my old mr2 and I stuck it behind the windshield and she went on her mary way,

I was looking through my trunk tonight to try and find my jack stuff for a friend and came across a mount. At first I had no idea what the hell it was. Came in a bag with instructions and mounting hardware. Idk why it wasnt installed on the car years ago. I just wish I had known about it a few months ago so the shop that replaced my bumper after the wreck wouldnt have drilled holes in it :smt013
