tripped a cel the other day, i'm guessing it's my converters being pissed off because of the headers. i tried to reset it today by disconnecting the - terminal on the battery and pressing the brake pedal, but the cel came on as soon as i started the car. am i doing it wrong, or might something be throwing a code the moment i start the car :smt017

Did all the presets on your radio go away? That's how I tell if I've properly disconnected the battery.

I had to leave the negative off for a good 10min or so for it to fully reset, I tried quick brake pedal, lights on, ect and it didn't work for me a while back for my UEL headers when I was resetting. So just leave it off for a good 10-20min.

The cable has to be off for a while,(I think I've read at least 5 min) not just unhook and put back on. If you don't have a code reader take it to a parts store and have it read, call around most do it for free and they can clear it too but if it's a hard fault it won't go away till you fix the problem.

I bought a code reader off Ebay a several years back and it's probably the best $60 investment I've ever made.
