i have a be5 sedan and obviously bh5 just means wagon... now my question is on motor aspect of it all... now there may be some difference to the chassis but what about the motor... ive been looking at parts for my car and while in my research some parts are listed for bh5 only... like this oil pump upgrade... will it really only fit on the wagon. or am i crazy for thinking it will work with my be5. and also is ej251 parts swappable with any other ej25... for an example can i put pistons from a ej255 on my ej251... or trade cam shafts or anything....?
thanks for any info!

Well, first off - BH5 and BE5 mean 2.0L cars (both turbo and non-turbo). If you are in the US, you are looking for BE9/BH9 since the US only had the 2.5L available. And The third letter makes a huge difference. For example, the EJ255 is a turbo DOHC and the EJ251 is an NA SOHC...

ok well welcome to SLi..
Heres some quick info.. are you sure you have a EJ251?> Look at your vin plate on your shock tower.. what does the Engine Type say?
There is EJ251 / EJ252 / EJ253. All of them are the same but with slightly different compression ratios... If you choose to interchange parts you must keep them symmetrical so if you want pistons swap all of them not just 1 or 2 ...
"yes...the EJ251/252/253 engines have a SERIOUS problem with the 11044AA632 head gaskets. They will leak coolant and/or oil externally.
Why? They are cheap as ape poo.
If you install the 11044AA642 head gaskets (stock for 2004~2006 EJ257 and EJ255) in the EJ251/252/253 engine...you will NEVER experience the external leak EVER again." - Nasioc
Other then that your upgrades your finding for the B*5 vs the B*9's is the turbo vs non-turbo engines.. not recommend to mix... but I cant say for sure.
Just browse the forum for a couple of days and look at whats available.. Eventually Yamazaki and I will make a few threads with all the proper info breakdowns but for now this should hold you over.
Cheers
