Ecu Self Diagnostics

Hey guys first of all merry Christmas and happy new year. I was wondering if anyone knows exactly how to perform a self diagnostic test on a 1995 BD5 rs legacy. Iv had an engine check light come on a few times now, The first one was when i opened her up for the first time and every now and again it comes on while idling. Any help with this would be really great

If you have a OBD one car than there are two black connetors under the dash that you have to connect. Turn the key to start. Check engine should start flashing. Long flashs are first digit short flashs are the second digit. It will repeat over and over. Once you have Your codes just google them.

This how I believe it to be done. Chime in if Im wrong.
