The owner isn't exactly sure what block this is. Apart from it being a 2.5. I'm in the process of sourcing goods for a franken motor and would appreciate the help. Sorry a few pics are blurry, but are clear enough to read the markings.

EDIT. Block was sold. Please delete, or leave up for those who are curious?

Just to move things along it is NOT:
EJ25D
EJ251/2/3
EJ255/7

I tried helping chromehorn with identifying but the markings are iffy.

I can add that it's not an EJ254.

That kind of eliminates every 2.5L that Subaru has though.... :smt017

how do you guys know its not a EJ25D/1/3/4 ?
its definitely not a EJ255/7
the easiest way i would think is to ID it by the pistons, but idk what pistons those are

I spent over 20 minutes comparing the cast markings/designs on the blocks between what chrome posted and EJ251/2/3 photos.

I am thinking this is a 2008+ block..... but I am not sure.. The Piston Markings do not give valid results...
