View Full Version : INSTALLED THE "NEW" EBAY INTAKE

I got the "new and improved" ebay intake discussed previously, and so far I'm impressed. It comes with four fittings, three for vaccuum hoses and one for some kind of sensor I think. It has a rubber grommit. I did not need the sensor fitting, so I ghetto modded it (put tape over it!)

The results : Just a few drives so far, but, feels like more power at highway speeds and the engine revs much more willingly. Not a lot more power, but the engine seemed to be working more easily and I keep being surprised that I was at 85-90 mph, where stock that would be pushing the car a bit. Low end seems the same. It is LOUD at WOT. Essentially when the engine is under load, it resonates. I like it and when you are cruising, it sounds like stock, but a llittle throaty. When you shut off, your hear like a compressor wheeze, I guess all factory tubing does a lot of work keeping things quiet.
I'll keep you guys posted on how things go. For $37 shipped, I'm very impressed.

Where's the MAF sensor? That thing wouldn't fit my car due to lack of MAF sensor place.

BE/BH legacys have MAP sensors. They're not nearly as finnicky as maf sensors

guess those of us with MAF's would have to find some way to ghetto rig the sensor to behind the cone filter? or what. looks really good tho.

Can get one of these for around $40 on ebay bolts right up to our sensor, then the back can be connected to a pipe
