I bought some 17" 2005 LGT rims and they currently have 225/45s on them. I put on a 5mm spacer and they were firmly pressed against the spring perch and I was only able to get a little rotation by hand. The tires are bald as well.
205/45s are harder to find and usually more expensive than the 225/45s or I would just run them. I was thinking about running 215/45s, but I am afraid they will rub even with the spacer.
I have a stock height 97 LGT. Am I safe running 215/45s or what do you guys suggest, before I go out and buy tires?
I have read through the sticky...so please don't post a link to it...It does not specifically answer my question.

225/45 16's?? well it probably rubs because of the 225 tread and 55 offset

They are 17s from an 05 LGT, but I am running stock suspension. With 5mm spacers.
I am just wondering if 215/45/17s would fit without rubbing with 5mm spacers.

if you still have the stock 16's I squeezed 215/50zr16's on mine without rubbing.

I had H&R springs but I don't think 1.5 inch lowering matters. if anything its probably tighter lowered.

Surprised they don't fit with a 5mm spacer. I have those wheels and that tire size and they fit fine with my sti struts, but 225/50-16 on a 16x7 +53 was reaaaly close to the stock struts. Those are really only 1mm and the difference in tire width closer though.
