I know this has been covered but I can't find out what's going on.

I had working locks alarm then lost the module when a service team worked on my head gaskets.
Got a new module and plugged it in and programmed the fob. Now I get the alarm active / disable (lights blink and notification light is blinking). I don't have the horn anymore so there isn't sound. But my doors are not locking / unlocking!

WTF! I thought it was going to be plug and play!

help and thanks.

Do you still have the door lock timer module? The keyless module should have a wiring diagram on the back that shows where the door lock/unlock signal is supposed to go.

All the harnesses are already there. I didn't change anything since they once worked a few years ago. check out the pics here: http://pokeinthesmoke.tumblr.com/post/3089580067
all the white connector go but i'm not sure what the black one is for?

this is very confusing.
thanks for the help

Black one is a fuse holder. The shop most likely pulled the fuse to stop the alarm from going off while working on the car. There is probably nothing wrong with the original module.

so wait, i feel like a f***ing idiot!
same fuse you think as the other?
dammit epic fail.

Oh wow. Yep, fuse.

can you make my status from "FNG" to "Local Dumb Ass" ?

ok so i put the fuse in and it kinda works. what happens is when i program the fob i can hear the celonoid working the drivers door. if i manually lock the door it opens the lock (drivers door) on the button push but not the other doors. also it does not lock the doors (all doors) when i push the lock button. the module makes the click to do something but the actuators do not sound.

i added another picture so that you can see what colors of wires and how i have it plugged in.

what am i missing.??????????

nomad,

i've read that probably 20 times...

ok here is the deal. i checked the area where the door lock timer should be..and guess what, not there. the wire is however cleanly zip tied for the timer. so we are good on that. the keyless module clicks when i lock the car but the locks don't move. basically the only door that works is the drivers door but only to UNLOCK.

the led for the alarm works fine also.

i'm about to cry this thing is going to kill me.

Maybe when that service team worked on your car they also removed the door lock timer...

skippymo

correct me if i'm wrong but the door lock timer should be removed if using the keyless entry.

False you must have it for any alarm system...

nomad, the post you pasted above shows that the timer is not needed.

i am getting very confused.

I couldn't tell you what those instructions are...

All the 1998 stuff I have dosen't tell you to remove it. The only time you remove it is if you are putting in a system that unlocks driver door on first push of button then all doors on second push. this requires you to install a new lock solenoid in drivers door..

BOTH of my cars have the door lock timer, and the keyless entry module. They are factory systems.

blue and blue/red, just wire nutted together I'm having trouble finding where these go. may explain why my passengers doors don't work?
maybe scooby-do can find a clue?

sorry thought it might help. sounds like your car has been hacked up. just do one thing at a time check the keyless wiring first check all wires with jimsaco instructions.

weird thing is that it unlocks the drivers door (if locked) but that's it. won't unlock the passengers or lock any door.
the button on the door does work like normal though.

looks like when i have a free weekend i'll rip the whole damn thing apart.
thanks for the help guys

Well what I found with mine is that it wasn't a double tab to open the other doors, its a push and hold. When you press it once it unlocks the drivers side but when you push and hold it will first unlock drivers side and then 2-3 seconds later it unlocks all the doors. I just finished removing the waring harness from mine last night in class and for those who go with my route (cause my module was messing up and too cheap to buy a new one) you have to remove the drivers side kick panel and locate the Red/Green and Pink/Green wires from the harness and trace them, you will find they are both spliced into a Red/Green wire right near a connector, that is for your drivers side door lock actuator, cut out the splice and splice the Red/Green wire back together and then when you press your unlock/lock button on your door it will lock all at the same time rather than all but drivers side which would have to be done manually. I have access to Mitchell OnDemand at school so I can find a ton of wiring diagrams.
