Hey guys,

I had my car up on the rack and I noticed my rear diff is leaking a little bit. Is there a gasket that is used for this. I haven't had the need to ever take an R series diff apart. The closest I ever came to do that was the old Borg Warner rear in my trans am. I am looking to do this when I do the rest of the shite that needs to be done in my car.

There is a a metal gasket in there. I reuse them, but mine weren't leaking. Just make sure to clean the crap off of the mating surfaces and torque the bolts down in a star pattern to torque specs.

So it's the hat that is leaking?
Or the pinion or the side retainer (CV shaft) seals?

Thanks Mike.

That is one thing I will be checking once I degrease it up on the rack. So much stuff, so little time and money.
