HID into JDM projector headlights

The stock 98 legacy bulb is 9007, so what bulb type do I need to purchase to use projectors for HID if I want 4300k, and 35w low beams?

jdm projectors are h1 bulbs. im running morimoto h1 4300k bulbs, nice and white.

you need the bulbs to match the jdm headlights. your stock wiring and bulbs will not/can not be used with the JDM projector headlights.....

(H1 if LiCelsior is correct, i cannot confirm as i dont have jdm projectors myself)

Checked the DIY and it is an H1 bulb for the projector. I see too that the hi-beam is H3, and looking around on ebay those are tiny little filament style bulbs, I guess?

If you want to be ultra-baller, retrofit you headlights with full HID projectors (FX35, TSX,TL), then put HID's in your high beams as well.

I'm just looking for a little bit better light output. If I need to really see, I have 100w IPF968's on the bottom, but thank you for the suggestion.
Speaking of, does anyone have any suggestions on which way to go 35w or 55w? Is 55w too blinding? Likewise is 35w too little?

Don't put 55w HID bulb in the JDM projectors, they run VERY hot compaired to the 35w ones, and they will burn/peel the chrome from the reflector bowl over time. This is especially true with the projectors, because they don't have anywhere for air to circulate, otherwise I'd say you could do it and leave the rear cap off the headlight to let air circulate, but play it safe and stick with 35w.

35w HID will have more lumen output than any halogen light that a car can possible carry through the stock electrical system. 55w kits don't really do anything but increase glare, and yes you will have glare even with your projectors because they're made for halogen bulbs, though not as much as a reflector...

I believe that someone had HID's in the JDM projector, and the cutoff was actually pretty good, with only a small amount of glare. Luckily, the location of the filament with the H1 HID bulb is very close to its halogen counterpart.

If you correct the cutoff plate to that it isn't putting the cutoff line higher on the left than the right (as all JDM projectors do) the JDM projectors do "ok" with HIDs. I did this for a while and it was a vast improvement over the stock lights, and the glare wasn't bad, but I decided to do a proper retrofit and replaced the projectors with FX-Rs. Sooo glad I did. The FX bixenons annihilate the stock JDM projectors.

Do some searching, I bought mine off of HIDplanet.net, but there's lots of places you can find them. They you gotta retrofit them into the JDM housing.

Does anyone have any experience wiring up both the low and high beam hid's? It's my first time doing it and I got 3000k h3's and 6000k h1's. I have NO idea what I'm doing lol

I have 55w in my low beams, glare is no where near what I thought it would be, and no burning or peeling of the chrome. That being said, I am looking forward to removing the stock projectors and installing some FX-R or TSX projectors.
