Well, I bought the PT Cruiser wheels for a steal from what I can find. They fit almost perfect on the car. They are 17x7 with a 40mm offset. I got 3 with ok tires for $200 and just ordered a 4th wheel, and with a used tire, I should only have about $350 invested total in this set. These are apparently hard to come by at all as they were only on some LE convertibles and only for like 2005 and 2006. Then finding some that arent chrome is even harder. I am about 99% I am the first to put any pt cruiser wheels on a subie. lol

Here is how they look on the PT Cruisers

And here are the only teaser pics I have until I get the 4th wheel in and get a tire on it.

I think it looks damn good! Did you have to use a hubcentric ring to make them tight on the hub?

Didnt even know that they fit the 5x100 pattern! They should look good with a drop.

I did my research before meeting to buy, and the hub bore is exactly 1mm larger on these wheels than stock for the Subies. Its almost a perfect fit!

Chrysler sebring wheels work too.

Those look pretty good!

neon's, sebrings, pt cruisers, grand am's, cavalier's will work. Not VW's though, they use ball-type seats not taper style, I have yet to find ball-seat lugnuts in 1.25x12mm.

autozone? Just ask for them at the counter...

nope, only major manufacturer that uses ball-seat type lugnuts is honda (all the euro ones that do use lugbolts), moreover theyre 1.5x12mm  The rest use either tapered cone (like subaru), or flat washer (mostly older domestics), moreover the 1.25x12mm thread pitch is rarely used...only subaru and nissan use them IIRC...

I found some ball-seat/cone seat adapter washers when I was looking into some Honda steelies for the STI (CRV steel 17's clear Brembos), but that's the only solution.....and not one I particularly care for. I suppose that torqued and aligned properly they'd be fine, just more than I wanted to mess with.

What year Sebrings work? All the Sebrings that I know of are based off of the Mitsubishi Galant, which runs a 5x114.3 bolt pattern. Same goes for the Stratus, Avenger, etc.

Go to discounttiredirect.com, select "Wheels", plug in the Sebring year you are looking at, then check the bolt pattern. Look for wheels that do not have a dual-fitment, if it says 5x100 you've got the right year.

Interesting, they look like they poke out a little bit, but good find.

They probably have an ET35 offset...?

Okay that must be MY2007 and newer. Anything older, will be a typical Mitsubishi wheel. 5x114.3 bolt pattern with a 38-46mm offset.

nah, they are 40mm so the offset is perfect really. there is plenty of room if it were lowered in the future.

Does this mean SRT-4 rims would fit?

d1giPhux
03-17-2011, 12:23 PM
^ I'm pretty sure they would. According to ebay they are 5x100, but may be a bit thin at 6" wide.. or so it says for most of them? Stock subaru wheels are 6.5" wide at least usually right? Least they are on my car. 99 LGT.

rougeben83
03-17-2011, 03:30 PM
Yes, SRT-4 rims would fit, however, their dimensions are somewhat stupid at 17x6" The 205 width tires that came on those cars are already pushing the limit of that wheel. To further add to it, when Chrysler put out the Neon SRT4 ACR, they actually had 16x7 BBS wheels put on them instead of the stock 17".

ScaryFatKidGT
03-17-2011, 08:45 PM
Yeah I knew the ACR had 16's with 215's not 17's. It is pretty dumb that they only had a 6" wide rim on a car with 250flbs of tq at 2200 rpms iv always thought the rims looked cool though. lol and the gt cruisers have the same engine just a little detuned.

Maybe a bit of a stretch but...when I first saw these PT wheels on that wagon I thought of AC Schnitzer. Good look!

does this mean i could use the 14" steelies from my derelict 97 Neon before it gets scrapped? I know my BK has 14s stock.

You can try. I just be worried about the calipers not clearing.
